When Donald was born, the nurse held him in her arms and noticed that he was a thumb-sucker. She sang him a song, and when Donald’s mum asked her what it was she was singing, the nurse told her that it was a cautionary song about how children who suck their thumbs will receive an unwelcome visit from the Pie Man.
