A run down old building, Sweets had a front room which held what appeared to be a collection of shop dummies along with shelf upon shelf of candy treats. The room at the back was home to a large vat of papier-mâché, which the Sweet Shop Owner would use to turn horrid children into mannequins. The sign outside the door read “SWEETS. Bang three times and wait,” and there was a large gold doorknocker for visitors to do just that.
The Sweet Shop Owner lured children who had been particularly badly-behaved, including young Thomas Ratchet, into the shop with the promise of free sweets, but would then catch them up in his net before turning them into shop dummies as a grizzly punishment.
